SUSTAINABLE FOREST
MANAGEMENT

Sustainable forest management is without a doubt our core business activity, underpinned by strongly held principles and objectives supported by the international community. Such a management approach not only contributes to creating a sustainable, environmentally responsible future for the timber industry as a whole, but also helps protect and preserve forests for future generations.

Our forest management approach involves harvesting trees from the forest without preventing it from regenerating naturally. In order to prove the effectiveness of this system of management and to provide our customers with a guarantee that they are buying products from sustainably managed forests, we obtained the relevant certifications in the mid-1990s.

Certification and its renewal are contingent upon the results of a number of very stringent audits carried out annually by independent international bodies. These focus on our forestry activities but also on our supply chain and processing operations to ensure they comply with the requirements of the certifying body and provide proof of the traceability of our timber.

Proof of our adherence to a sustainable forest management approach is found in the certification labels our products bear.
